Pakistan’s women’s volleyball star, Azra Farooq, has been honored as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) at the prestigious Kings Cup Volleyball tournament held in the Maldives.
Representing the MK Club, Azra’s exceptional performance stood out throughout the tournament, playing a crucial role in her team’s success. She not only led her Milton Keynes-based MK Club to victory in all four matches but was also named the best player in each of those games, ultimately securing the tournament title for her team.
Azra’s remarkable achievements didn’t stop there; she brought home an impressive six trophies from the event, including four Player of the Match awards, the MVP award, and a Top 6 Player award.
These accolades are a tremendous source of pride, not just for Azra but for Pakistan’s women’s volleyball community as a whole. Her performances are a testament to the potential of Pakistani women athletes to shine on the international stage.
This marks Azra’s second successful stint with a club in the Maldives. Previously, she, along with Muqaddas Bukhari, made history by becoming the first Pakistani women to be signed by a volleyball club outside Pakistan. The duo was signed by the Al-Fawz club for the MZC Ladies’ Cup, further cementing their legacy in the sport.
